The expression on your face says it all - OM [one moment] meet up #29

Be it parent to child, partner to partner, friend to friend, our facial expression has impact on others. A friend posted this quote on Facebook this week and I thought it was one to share and remember.

"A new idea is delicate.
It can be killed by a sneer or a yawn;
it can be stabbed to death by a joke or
worried to death by a frown
on the right person's brow."

[Charles Brower]

I love quotes.  Do you have a favorite one?  Please share it with us.

om [one moment] meet upOM is a weekly meet up that promotes living in the moment.  Whether funny, sad, ridiculous, or banal, looking for these moments can promote balance in our lives.

Share in the blog comments here, on your own blog (and link back below)  or on my Facebook fan  page. If you are on Twitter,  use hash tag - #omMeetup so we can converse if we'd like. We'd love to hear your moment this week!

Hump Day Humor: Funny bumper stickers

I literally stumbled upon these funny bumper stickers quotes this morning and they made me laugh.  I'll be tweeting more throughout the day.  Enjoy!

My idea of a team effort is a lot of people doing whatever I say.

If I'm talking, everyone should be taking notes.

People who think they know it all really annoy those of us who do.

You probably don't recognize me without the cape.

Don't believe everything you think.

Just say NO to negativity.

I thought I was indecisive; now I'm not so sure.

Life is too short to worry about how short life is.
Think globally, Act galactically.

Tailwind Tuesday

Today is one of those days that seems to be rushing by. I'm just going along for the ride. I woke up to realize that a recent large order is for a very exciting new venture that could push me into yet another direction. Hopefully, I'll be able to expound upon that soon.

I'm also working on a paper that I hope will fill a void in the craft community and bridge a gap between the indie handmade world and the techi world. Also, more to come.
And, did I mention the ongoing orders?! My husband laughed when I commented that I thought January should be slower for me. He said it never is. Clearly, I have selective memory.

I hate to not blog about something yet I'm not prepared to blog about anything. So, I leave you with this great quote I saw today:

“Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means you have made peace with the imperfections.” — Unknown

The curse of the creative

Such a true statement! I always thought I'd run out of ideas but they keep coming. I refer to it as a disease because sometimes it literally pains me and it just doesn't go away. I'll get an idea and if I don't try to create it, it haunts me until I do. The curse of the creative.

BTW, this image was originally a picture I took at our local children's museum (yesterday). In a creative jag, I messed with layers and thresholds to come up with this version. I just can't stop!!

update: I took, imo, some great pics at the museum. I'm slowly adding them to my Flickr if you'd like to see them. There was a great new hands-on exhibit that included a giant Lite-Bright. E ran around while I took random photos - fun for both of us!
