OM [one moment] meet up - week #3

We just returned from a last minute trip to NYC. We did a lot in 4 days: Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, shopping, dinner with cousin and family, MoMA, eat, walk, eat, walk, etc. The weather couldn't have been nicer even with one evening of showers.

No matter how fun or how long the vacation, there is always that moment when you unlock the door to your home, walk in, turn on the lights, drop your bags, and are hit with the familiarity of home. That was my moment this week. We did so much and had such a wonderful time but were still happy to come home.

What was your 'one moment' this week? Share in the comments, on your own blog (and link back below) or on my Facebook fan page. We'd love to hear your moment this week!

An Oscar first for me

I'm not sure if its because I just returned from LA (literally...yesterday) or if its because I loved Slumdog Millionaire. This year's Oscars was the first that I enjoyed 100%. The speeches were great. Even Sean Penn's was lovely. The dresses were beautiful. Hugh Jackman was charming. I particularly liked the economy appropriate opening musical.

The only uncomfortable moment, for me, was when Jennifer Aniston and Jack Black presented. Jennifer seemed nervous. I knew they'd show Angelina who was sitting in the front row.

So I'm back from a great trip out West. We had so much fun and the weather was...well, sunny and warm. The kids loved CA. I'm actually surprised at how much. We believe we had one major star sighting at Universal Studio - Jon Heder (Napolean Dynomite). We are 99% sure it was him. We dined with Shamu at Sea World and we ate lots of Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese food. You'd be surprised at how much weight can be gain from eating Asian food.

At least we have blue skies here in RI today. It may take me a day or two to get back into the swing of things. I'm sure by the weekend, LA will be but a distant memory.
