Dog friendly Jamestown, RI

So the family decided to take me along on an adventure this weekend.  They looked at DogFriendly.com as well as other online resources to see what local beaches and restaurants allowed me to tag along with them for the day.

We ended up in Jamestown, RI.  It seemed to be brimming with dogs and their people walking around.  I got a lot of attention, like usual, although there was a brief moment where two 9 week old lab pups stole the show.  Of course, I behaved with dignity and poise whilst everyone drooled over them.

We, or should I say my people,  ate at Tricia's Tropi Grille.  I was welcomed with a fresh bowl of water on their outdoor patio and nervously sat table side for the family meal.  I'm still not used to being around so many people at once, much less near the table during a meal.  But, I behaved myself and managed to garner a few pats on my head by strangers.  Turns out there is another lovely restaurant across the way that is also dog friendly.  Trattoria Simpatico  is known to have the "best al fresco" dining in RI.  The outdoor patio looked quite nice with paper lanterns and tiny lights strung in the trees.  Apparently dogs are greeted there with a bowl of chicken.  I overheard my people talking about going back to try this restaurant but next time without me or the boys.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at Beavertail State Park at the southern end of Jamestown. Home of the 3rd oldest lighthouse in North America...
"Beavertail State Park is known for offering some of the most beautiful vistas along the New England coastline. The Park attracts people from all over the country, to enjoy its pristine environment. Beavertail’s most popular activity is sightseeing, and can be done from the comfort of a vehicle, in one of the four overlooks or on foot, from the rocky coastline. Beavertail also provides some of the best saltwater fishing in the area, along with offering hiking trails, and a naturalist program that attracts hundreds of people each year." [source]
We climbed the rocks, sniffed the salt air, and took lots of pictures.  I was exhausted coming back home.  Overall, it was a great day with my people.  It sure beats hanging out in the kennel waiting for them all day.

Yep, that's me and my person C.  You can see my boys sitting on the rocks above.
