You never know what awaits you on the road ahead

possibility

I hope you had a great weekend!  Ours was very nice ending with us cheering on the Packers to their Super Bowl victory.  I made our favorite pulled pork recipe which you can find on the recipes page.  Gotta check in with @Waterrose who also tried the recipe and @Modernpaper who was going to try the chocolate gooey butter cookies to see if they liked the recipes.

I'll be focusing on a few new projects this week, all of them having surfaced last week.  I can't give you too many details yet, but I want to share my joy of their manifestation with you.  I love unexpected collaborations and new projects that come along.  They always seem to appear when I least expect them and often when things seem, dare I say, a bit boring.  This has taught me a lot about being open to possibilities, nurturing connections, and allowing myself to try new things.

You never know what awaits you on the road ahead.

I hope your week is starting on a positive note! What are you currently excited about in your life?

From photo to blog in under 5 minutes

I just took this photo of myself (from my iPhone) wearing my flower necklace from Sea Find Designs.

I used a few new photo apps (learned here from Scoutie Girl) to give it a new look and add the polaroid frame.

I uploaded it to my Flickr page.

I blogged from my Flickr page.

And, viola, you are reading it here on my blog!!

All in less than 5 minutes!!

I love technology!!

Wishing Spring

Wishing Spring, originally uploaded by Sator Arepo.

This photo makes me want to aimlessly roam an old European city. Can't you get lost in it?

My week in preview:

Getting used to the new pup. Things are progressing nicely, but I've not been able to accomplish as much as I'd hoped. Trying to take each moment as they come. This is a great lesson in patience for me. Just as many of you mentioned, my heart would open wide and it has [I'm looking much like this]. As imagined, she has attached herself to me and doesn't let me out of her sight. I had to move her big bed into my studio/office so I could get some work done. I've even taken to showering with her in the bathroom just like I used to when the boys were babies.

I'm anxious to make some new things, but another week has gone by. I guess there's always next week.

Have a wonderul weekend!

Slow start this week

I'm coming off a fantastic fall weekend and finding it hard to dive into "work as I know it." I want to share some of what I did this weekend but that will take some time to post. Today, I need to sew...sew...weave...sew. Sooo, I leave you with this lovely photo of a flower that I took in Tiverton, RI, outside the Black Goose Cafe.

C and I started our weekend on Friday while the kids were in school. He joined me in visiting a junk yard called Sanford and Sons. When I saw the name, I knew it was the junk yard for me. [I'm sure I'll show you my junk yard purchase soon.] On our way, we stopped by this wonderful cafe. Their sandwiches are to die for! If you are local, it is a cafe worth visiting. It sits across from the bay and the view is perfectly New England.

When I got out of the car, this flower made itself known. The overcast day made the magenta in these flowers pop.

Okay, who do we choose to throw overboard?

Day ???? of grey, dreary weather. I woke up to the loud cracks of lightening and thunder. What is going on with this weather on the East Coast? C even called me from the hospital to say that his surgeries have been put on hold for fear of the electricity going out.

On the drive to drop off E to camp, I noticed flooding in the fields at the local school and golf course. So much water. I wish we could pipe it to those who need it. Surprisingly, a few positive things came to mind this morning

  1. I've not had to water any of my garden or yard.
  2. The lawn is looking lush and green.
  3. We've not dealt with any sunburns.
  4. I took that lovely leaf photo.

Okay, I'm stretching to find the brighter side of things. What are you doing to keep yourself out of the gloom?
