Charmed, I'm sure - wine charms for Mad Housewife wine

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I'd love to hear all about it (the good, the bad, and the ugly), so drop me a line or two!

There's nothing like jumping right back into work! Although the kids are still home, somehow I was able to take a few product shots for my friends over at Mad Housewife Cellars (MH). You may recall that I designed some switch plates for them with their fun catch phrases [blogged here]. I recently designed some wine charms incorporating more of their cheeky phrases:

"The dishes can wait, dinner be damned."

"Blenders are fine, but I prefer wine."

"Don't be silly, darling. It's just wine."

They've been giving the switch plates and charms away in fun contests like their recent Photo Caption Contest. You may want to check out their Twitter and Facebook pages for details about their next contest.

Mad Housewife t-shirt giveaway - The dishes can wait, dinner be damned!

- GIVEAWAY CLOSED -
a winner has been chosen and notified
I recently partnered with a great micro-winery, Mad Housewife Wine. They are a label out of Seattle that combines great affordable wine with fun marketing (two of my favorite vices). I designed several exclusive switch plates for them, for a recent giveaway, using some of their popular by-lines (wine charms are in the making).
Mad Housewife Wine can be found in most states and parts of Canada. Currently, it is not available in RI but I understand you can request it at your local wine shop and liquor store. Girlfriends, it is the perfect wine to take to your next book club or girls night out!!

I will be giving away 2 Mad Housewife t-shirts this week through my blog and 1 additional t-shirt via Twitter. Warning: these t-shirts get attention!

Week in review

Well, I hope you had a great week. Beside the e. coli scare, mine was great. I'm working on orders for 3 of my clients: Habitatter.com; Studio Six (Bristol, RI); and Clover (Seattle).

I also finally "mastered" my wallet design. After making 4 wallets, cutting them apart, restitching, cursing, throwing, and gritting my teeth, I came up with one that satisfied me. While this design has been floating around in my head for at least the past year, I was motivated to make it for a great challenge by my Etsy handbag team, CAB (Carried Away). This challenge was to make a change purse of some sort to be added to our CAB Team shop.

Each challenge is geared toward a specific cause/organization. The Change purse for Change challenge #2 is giving all proceeds to Woman for Woman International. So, if you are in the market for a change purse or bag and want to support a great cause, check out this shop! We will also have a giveaway at the end of September! I'll keep you posted.

I'm also excited to be teaming up with Mad Housewife Cellars, a great wine and fun label.
I'll be creating some exclusive items for them that will include cheeky, retro switchplates, jewelry, and wine charms.

If you are in the RI area, you can request this wine at your local liquor store. It isn't available here yet. It is available in other parts of the country, so look for their fun label.

Check out their recipe challenge/giveaway announced on Facebook. I will also be giving away some of their fun t-shirts.

So, as you can see I've been busy and fun things lie ahead! Hope you have a great weekend!!

A wine by any other name...

Some good friends, or so I thought, surprised me with this wine today. I love the label and won't read into its connotation. Actually, they say it isn't a bad wine. Some reviews I've read say the same. However, this bottle isn't being opened (or unscrewed). Another good friend of mine works for Rainier Winery, the makers of Mad Housewife Wine, in Seattle. I haven't tried the wine yet (hint, hint) but intend to in a few weeks when I visit her. So far, it isn't offered on the east coast. Wine aside, the marketing is fantastic. Much like the aforementioned Bitch wine, I'd buy Mad Housewife just for the label and fun packaging.
As we approach the weekend, I'd like to offer a toast...to women and their wines...and I don't mean their kids.
