On Tuesday our town sent out a "boil water" advisory as E. Coli was detected in the town water. Still no word on a lift to the ban. It is actually a big effort to not instinctively turn on the tap to rinse toothbrushes, clean off a butter knife, or simply get a drink. All our conveniences are so ingrained that something as simple as boiling water is a major task.
I can't tell you how many times I've wet my toothbrush, brushed my teeth, and rinsed my mouth with the bottled water only then to instinctively rinse my toothbrush from the tap...FAIL.
The next time you turn your faucet on, take a moment to be thankful for our modern day conveniences.
a big drag for sure. that used to happen to us when we lived in riverside. ugh. hope it gets remedied soon.
