Sweet summer distractions

bear banks

Well, the summer isn't quite going as planned. C is working all the time - literally, all the time (when he's home he has the pager clipped to the collar of his shirt). The boys are finally in camp and the time I have to get any sort of work accomplished (be it business or home) is limited. I'm trying hard to go with the flow but that goes directly against my nature.

So, my blog friends, be patient in the next two months. I'm uncertain where my head will be and how my blog posts will fair. I am distracted.

The other day E and I stopped into a downtown toy store while M was getting his hair cut. These cute bear banks were sitting on the shelf and I couldn't resist snapping photos of them (with my iPhone, btw). May they bring a smile to your day!

Let me know what's going on with you this summer. Is it good so far? Any tips on keeping the sanity?

  1. No tips... run while you still have a little sanity left!

  2. Oh, Linda, I can so relate. Good luck finding some quite time in there, too! I find the wee hours of insomnia to be a kind of sweet yet torturous respite...

  3. When do summer's ever go as planned? Enjoy the little ones while they are little and want you around. This summer I seem to be deserted by my 15 1/2 year for friends and fun computery things. I'm looking forward to 3 nights at the beach next week in the rv and a different board game every night for the 4 of us to play.
Some how the escape from the house and all that goes with it recharges the batteries.

  4. I feel for you! How about spending some time with the boys making a list of the things you love to do in R.I. and make sure you do them, photographing and videotaping when you can. Like that night at the museum. This year is bound to be tumultuous, so taking the time NOW to fill up all your memories of R.I. fun may help the transition...

  5. Thanks all!

Yes, running away was considered but not an option.

Luckily, I've not had problems sleeping lately, Beth. Next time I do, I'll look you up!

Lizzie, enjoy your beach time! I feel like my boys are already pulling away so I'm trying to remind myself to enjoy NOW.

Candy, we do have a list that we are working on. Sometimes it is hard for me to do them solo with the boys. Thanks for reminding me to get my RI fix while we can!
