The kids have been in camp this week: M, paintball and E, tennis. My sanity is slowing coming back. Some of you may appreciate my "moment" this week and others may find yourself scratching your heads thinking, "really?" My moment came each morning when I woke up to get the kids ready for camp and DID NOT have to make them lunch. It was provided at camp. I know it's small, but if you are used to making lunches every day, you can appreciate the break. Am I alone here?!
What was your 'one moment' this week? What took you out of your present moment and made you reflect, appreciate, enjoy?
Share in the blog comments here, on your own blog (and link back below) or on my Facebook fan page. If you are on Twitter, I've started a hash tag - #omMeetup so that we can converse if we'd like. We'd love to hear your moment this week!
I completely appreciate that moment! The little guy is having pizza today at camp and it makes me joyful not to have to pack his lunch. Thank you for validating my small, but significant joy in this life as a mom.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, sister! Not packing lunches was a major relief when school let out. I don't even mind making lunches when they are home, but really hate thinking about, making and packing them day after day.
ReplyDeleteI have an OM!!! I really do!! I'm so excited about mine... it's true... Kidness is the true path!
ReplyDeleteI am an "artist"... I sell on Etsy... www.seafinddesigns.etsy.com.
Sometimes we forget that we are selling to actual people, people who like our work enough to spend their hard earned money on us! I try to NEVER do that.... I have a wonderful customer named Claudia, whom I take the time once and a while to just chat with.... she's a chatty... me too! This week at my door a HUGE box was delivered via UPS. No idea what it was.... when I opened it I gasped... It was FILLED TO THE BRIM with genuine PERFECT English sea glass... almost twenty pounds of it!!! From Claudia... just for being nice to her... Oh, she sent me a Tigger statue too!!
My ONE MOMENT... Kindness is the true path!
I TOTALLY get how awesome the not packing lunches is! You've got a full summer of moments to savor this every morning!
ReplyDeleteI made my kids start packing their own lunches when they were 6 (we had final approval though). It was a great day!
ReplyDeleteMy OM was realizing I had more good friends than I thought :) I had 3 lunch dates and one dinner date this week all with girlfriends! I'm one lucky chickadee.
Hooray! I finally made time to participate again. I hope you're enjoying your little break. Best!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about making lunches. I use to hate it. My daughter always wanted Velveeta cheese on crackers. It got so I hated Velveeta cheese. Just the thought of opening that box and peeling away the foil to cut slices of sticky cheese makes me ....Well, it makes me sick. So, I have a big smile on my face for you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I was alone!
ReplyDeleteTracy, that is so amazing! How nice to find something so thoughtful in the mail. And what a kind gesture on your customer's behalf.
OMG Linda...I had that same Escort when I first got married. It was even black. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHH the giddy thrill of no lunch to make! I am experiencing that this summer too. Sweeet.
ReplyDeleteLove the One Moment idea. Cannot be reminded enough. Thanks.
