Video editing in my linen Chuck Taylors

Okay, I was hoping to have a new video up today for those of you who are interested in adding tabs to your blogger blog (see my tabs above).  I'm in the process of editing the video right now and it looks like it will be up tomorrow.  These things always take much more time than one would imagine.

I know I need to work on my directing and producing.  I always feel like I'm hurrying to get info out to people.  That's me, instant gratification woman.  So, please be kind tomorrow.  If it turns out to hurt rather than help, I'll reshoot.

In the meantime, here are the linen Chuck Taylors I wore today.  Yes, linen.  I've had them for way longer than I'd like to admit but they are linen and I love them.

Vintage Maker app - a fun iPhone movie editing program

We have so much going on right now that it seems hard for me to narrow down my "one moment" this week.  It's been busy.  However, this is something I want to share with you that made me laugh (as well as my husband...at me) over and over again.  To me, a good laugh is priceless.  It's cathartic and healthy.  It provides a great deal of release.

I came across this iPhone app called Video Maker by macphun LLC.  If any of you have dabbled in home videos (which has become so easy now that there are Flip cameras and video on many phones) you know that some footage is...well, boring.  Video Maker turns those "blah" videos into fun footage.  The basic app allows you to turn your video into old fashioned silent movies with piano music, 60s reel video with projector sound, black and white, or sepia.  You can even add your own music.  Here's what tickled my fancy this week.  I hope you enjoy them.

The app is currently $1.99.  I'm not sure if this app is only for iPhone but it is so worth checking out.  I may even upgrade mine for more bells and whistles.

Hump Day Happenings: My YouTube channel and How to make a TUTU

Did you know I have a YouTube channel?  I've produced (I use that word hesitantly) 4 DIY videos with my Flip camera.  These videos aren't fancy and are shot from my perspective both through the lens and in instruction.  Much to my surprise, 2 of my videos have each been viewed more than 12,000 times.  I know, I'm as shocked as you are.

My newest installment is You, too, can make a Tutu.  I filmed this last December when I made a tutu for my little niece (the original post here).  Having two boys, I jumped at the chance to make something girly.  Much to my surprise, I really like tutus and hope to make one for myself and Sophie for Halloween (the only time Sophie will every dress up).  View my punk rock tutu gallery here to see just exactly my kind of tutu.

Rest assured, I will be working on both my filming and editing techniques for future videos.  Maybe (doubtful, but maybe) I'll show my face in one of them.  Who knows?!
