I was afraid I'd like it! OM [one moment] meet up #45

Shhhhhh!  I have a huge secret to share with you.

I have a secret

I was afraid to stop working (or slow down in any way).
I was afraid of packing away my studio/office.
I was afraid to put my Etsy shop on vacation for at least 6 months.
I was afraid of not promoting my business as I have for the past 5 years.
I was afraid of being forgotten.
I was afraid of the all the changes in my life associate with our big move.
I was mostly afraid that I'd love not doing what I've been doing for so long.

My moment this week is that of realization and acceptance.

So, what?!

It will all be okay.
It will all work out (as it always does).
New and exciting things come when we open ourselves up to the possibilities.
I'll be remembered by those most important to me.
Fear does nothing but hold me back.

Is fear holding you back?

You never know what awaits you on the road ahead

possibility

I hope you had a great weekend!  Ours was very nice ending with us cheering on the Packers to their Super Bowl victory.  I made our favorite pulled pork recipe which you can find on the recipes page.  Gotta check in with @Waterrose who also tried the recipe and @Modernpaper who was going to try the chocolate gooey butter cookies to see if they liked the recipes.

I'll be focusing on a few new projects this week, all of them having surfaced last week.  I can't give you too many details yet, but I want to share my joy of their manifestation with you.  I love unexpected collaborations and new projects that come along.  They always seem to appear when I least expect them and often when things seem, dare I say, a bit boring.  This has taught me a lot about being open to possibilities, nurturing connections, and allowing myself to try new things.

You never know what awaits you on the road ahead.

I hope your week is starting on a positive note! What are you currently excited about in your life?

Open yourself up to possibilities

One of my favorite books is The King of Things and the Cranberry Clown, by John Callahan. We got it from a friend when M was born 13 years ago. It's about attaining true freedom when we let go of trying to control things - opening ourselves up to possibilities. While slightly heavy and dark for kids, it is very poignant. I used to read it to the boys when they were babies while getting emotional and sappy about their futures [self inflicted torture]. It still brings tears to my eyes.

Anyway, I'm embarking on several completely different opportunities (both personal and business-wise) that got me "monologuing" in my head. I can easily talk myself out of anything (and often do) but when I've opened myself up to the possibilities, I've freed myself and great things have happened. So, I'm going to start to document some of these thoughts and opportunities (for now under the title "The Tao of Possibilities") to free myself from myself. Perhaps it will help you in some way. At the very least, it may be amusing.

So, I ask you...
What has surprised you when you've let go?

What is holding you back?

What would you do if you had no limitations?
