Slow start this week

I'm coming off a fantastic fall weekend and finding it hard to dive into "work as I know it." I want to share some of what I did this weekend but that will take some time to post. Today, I need to sew...sew...weave...sew. Sooo, I leave you with this lovely photo of a flower that I took in Tiverton, RI, outside the Black Goose Cafe.


C and I started our weekend on Friday while the kids were in school. He joined me in visiting a junk yard called Sanford and Sons. When I saw the name, I knew it was the junk yard for me. [I'm sure I'll show you my junk yard purchase soon.] On our way, we stopped by this wonderful cafe. Their sandwiches are to die for! If you are local, it is a cafe worth visiting. It sits across from the bay and the view is perfectly New England.



When I got out of the car, this flower made itself known. The overcast day made the magenta in these flowers pop.

A literal carpet of flowers - Brussels in bloom

The Carpet of Flowers in the Grand-Place, Brussels. Close to a million begonia flowers were used to create the 300 square metres carpet in August 2008. The pattern is based on a medieval carpet design.

Craftsmen arrange the carpet by hand, directly onto the square's cobblestones, without any soil. Grass and tree bark were also used to provide color.
