I must let go in order to get going - OM [one moment meetup] # 36

release II

I have hang-ups. I have many hang-ups. Many of my hang-ups were born during childhood; others were picked up along the way. To list them for you would only depress me.

I let go of a few things this week: 1) an obligation, 2) a fear, 3) a self imposed judgement. My moment this week was when I realized how great it feels to release myself of these things. It can't stop here. In order to get through this next year, I have to release many more hang-ups but now I know I can and how great it feels.

I've never been one to make New Year's resolutions and I'm not going to start now. However, like many of you, I'm going to chose a word for 2011. My word this year is RELEASE. It will resonate throughout all areas of my life.

"I must let go in order to get going."

How about you?  What are you hanging on to that you know needs to go?

  1. I love that word RELEASE! I have got to release the "worry"... my default is always to worry and that CAN'T be good for ya!

  2. What a perfect word for you! In this year of change, letting go of the crap so you can focus on the things that really matter is gonna be key!

As for me...I let go of worrying about online marketing. I can't do it all, so letting go of the thing that I hate the most is incredibly freeing!

  3. Amanda, worrying doesn't change a thing. I remind myself of that often.

Candy, it's great when you figure out those things that can be let go! It won't be missed.

Oh, and I like sharing my hang-ups with you :) Makes me feel a little less crazy.

  5. Thanks, Cyn. We all have hang-ups and it's great to know that we aren't alone in our own. Sharing helps with the release process!

  6. What a great word to follow this year. Ironically I think your post is similar to mine. I too need to release things from my past that cause fears everyday, in order to move forward. Thanks for this wonderful post!

  7. Linda, this post resonates with me. I just finished writing my about my moment. It was a bit of a release. It's a glorious moment when we can let go of the things that bog us down or look at our foibles, obligations and stumbling blocks with a realistic and positive eye.

  8. It just hit me how beautiful the word 'release' is - thank you for this post. You are an amazing lady, Linda, and I sincerely hope that your release opens space in your heart and soul to let 'self-love' in - not that you didn't, but sometimes those hang-ups hold us back from our true selves. I can pinpoint moments of revelation in my life, where I realized why I thought or did certain things and how it didn't *have to* be that way. Doing a 180 away from those things feels effin' great!!! Freedom! Don't look back... Hoping 2011 is a spectacular year for you in every way! (p.s. your flickr photos of those earrings made me gasp. going to your etsy shop when i'm back on my own computer.)
