I then went about my hectic day.
By evening, I found myself in the very same spot with a glass of wine.
Giving myself a few moments at the beginning and end of my day was really a nice way to get centered. Turn on and turn off, so to speak. It is a routine that I should try to incorporate ever day. My "moment" this week was bookending my day with serenity.
What was your 'one moment' this week? What took you out of your present moment and made you relax, breath, reflect?
Share in the blog comments here, on your own blog (and link back below) or on my Facebook fan page. If you are on Twitter, I've started a hash tag - #OMmeetup so that we can converse if we'd like. We'd love to hear your moment this week!
I saw the first pic on twitter yesterday and thought "that's what I'd like to be doing right now".
ReplyDeleteIf only every day could start and end like that!
Yes, it would be nice if we could pull this off more often!
ReplyDeleteI feel like it's been a long time since I've just sat and took a moment. I guess putting that on my to do list is missing the point ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to just chill.
It's amazing we have to remind ourselves to relax, but that seems to be the American way.
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I haven't sat outside with a beverage since that day. *shaking head!
My one moment was when my daughter called all worked up over something and asked me to help her get unstuck and recentered. It took over an hour of examining this and that but I helped her reconnect with the zen sensible bit inside her. Even in chaos we managed to salvage serenity. I felt needed and treasured when she thanked me and told me that I was her rock. We talk all the time but this was one of those occasional "Help, mom, I'm going batshit crazy!" calls. So glad she feels safe with me :)
