Open yourself up to possibilities

One of my favorite books is The King of Things and the Cranberry Clown, by John Callahan. We got it from a friend when M was born 13 years ago. It's about attaining true freedom when we let go of trying to control things - opening ourselves up to possibilities. While slightly heavy and dark for kids, it is very poignant. I used to read it to the boys when they were babies while getting emotional and sappy about their futures [self inflicted torture]. It still brings tears to my eyes.

Anyway, I'm embarking on several completely different opportunities (both personal and business-wise) that got me "monologuing" in my head. I can easily talk myself out of anything (and often do) but when I've opened myself up to the possibilities, I've freed myself and great things have happened. So, I'm going to start to document some of these thoughts and opportunities (for now under the title "The Tao of Possibilities") to free myself from myself. Perhaps it will help you in some way. At the very least, it may be amusing.

So, I ask you...
What has surprised you when you've let go?

What is holding you back?

What would you do if you had no limitations?

  1. Sounds like all sorts of fun stuff is brewing!

What has surprised me when I let go? Hmmm - the laundry is still there the next time I see it? LOL

Seriously, what holds me back is TIME. There is NEVER enough! I try to be as efficient as I can, but at some point there's just not enough time! I have pared down what I can, but I need to sleep. So I continue to prioritize, try not to ignore my family TOO much, and wait for that creative compulsion to strike, and follow it when it does.

Can't wait to read more about your journey!
