Warning: non sequitur post - from dooce to dread

Just a few random things I want to share:

This has been a very busy week. Coming off of a few weeks of vacation, I had a lot of catching up to do. I'm slowly making progress. And I even made a few new things along the way (click on photos for details):

My current giveaway with Crafted by Lindy ends tonight at midnight, EST. Be sure to enter!

If you haven't noticed "streaming eye candy" on the left sidebar, you may want to check it out. It is updated, sometimes too frequently, with things I find and like on the Internet: architecture, quotes, photos, etc. For me, it's like walking aimlessly through Target: relaxing, informational, and quiet.

If you don't read or haven't caught up with dooce lately, read her recent post here. I watched this unfold on Twitter Thursday and had a feeling she'd make Maytag sorry they messed with the wrong sleep deprived new mom. Fact: If you have 1,147,854 followers, you can make things happen. Luckily, she is using her power for good. Way to go!! She's a woman after my own heart.

The kids start school on Tuesday (update: Monday! How I missed this, I don't know) and I'm elated and sad at the same time. They are both ready, whether they admit it or not, and I need to get back to a "normal" work schedule. Since I work out of my house, it has been impossible to get things done on time. I did enjoy late nights and stress free (relatively speaking) days. Summer '09, I bid you adieu.

I must forewarn you that the next 10 consecutive days, C will be on chief call. Yup, resident in charge. Essentially, that means I pretend he isn't here. He can, and will, be called into the hospital at all hours and for many hours. Just for kicks, I'll keep a tally of his hours here:
Saturday, 8/29 - 7AM to 1PM =6 hrs
Sunday, 8/30 - 7AM to 1 PM= 6 hrs
Monday, 8/31 - 6AM to 8:30 PM = 14 1/2 hrs
Tuesday, 9/1 - 6 AM to 8:00 PM=14 hrs
Wednesday, 9/2 - 6 AM to 5:30 PM = 11 1/2 hrs
Thursday, 9/3 - 6AM to 9 PM =15 hrs
Friday, 9/4 - 6AM to 6 PM = 12 hrs
Saturday, 9/5 - 6AM to 12 PM and 2:30PM to 9:30PM = 12 hrs
Sunday, 9/6 - 6AM to

Crankiness on my part will ensue.

Enough said.

You've been warned.

Pray for my kids.
