An 80's moment at the Oscars

One of my favorite moments last night during the Oscars was the tribute to John Hughes. However, in that moment, my life flashed before my eyes. I felt old. It was surreal to see the Breakfast Club members on stage as 40 somethings.

They showed a scene from movie, The Breakfast Club, where Molly Ringwald exclaims she won't grow up to be like her parents. Judd Nelson replies, "It's inevitable." I remember that scene like it was yesterday and here I am now...a parent. Maybe not like my parents, but certainly not the person I had envisioned when I first saw that movie.

Did you have a favorite Oscar moment last night?

  1. Yes, I liked that part too. Also, made me stop and think about things for a moment.... I thought the fashion was kind of retro overall ...and the Streisand song was "the way we were..."
